Tribe Ranks & Explanation

Sooth-Sayer:
Leader of the tribe who leads and makes the hard decisions.

Disciple:
Second in command to the Sooth-Sayer and next in line to lead.

Druid:
The healer of the tribe who has a spiritual connection to the tribes ancestors. May be given a mystical power or talent, gifted to them by the dead. Traditionally, this gift is discovered when the receiver is still a kit. When this happens they are chosen to train under the current Druid.

Elder Council:
Once a cat reaches a certain age and have shown significant loyalty and wisdom amongst the tribe, they are chosen to join the council of elders who assist the leader in making hard choices.

Guardian:
The fighters of the tribe, trained since the age of an apprentice to hone their combatant skills to defend the forest and tribe-mates with their life.

Scouts:
Cats that are adept at subterfuge and speed. These cats are the majority look outs and hunters and patrol the farthest borders of the forest.

Apprentices:
Young cats old enough to start their training as a guardian, scout or druid under the tutelage of another in that rank.

Mothers & Kits:
She-cats expecting or nursing kittens.

Name Ceremony
All cats start out with a singular part of their name ex.: Star. When they become apprentices, they retain that singular name until their training is complete and it is during their rise to their new rank that a cat earns their full name. Ex.: Pelt of Star Light. Typically, it is the Sooth-Sayer that grants an apprentice their full name. However, with Druid apprentices, it is their mentor who grants them their name.

Sooth-Sayer
The day after the previous Sooth-Sayer either dies or steps down, the disciple must trek deep within the ancient forest until they come upon a strange, cave-like entrance nearly overtaken by nature and enter. D=They walk down a long, dark tunnel until they exit to the other side at a new part of the forest where the trees part enough and the ground has become bare from cats of the past making the same journey. They will come to the ruins of an odd, arched stone structure where they will be greeted by the spirit of an ancestor. They are granted two extra lives in addition to the one they live now and are sent back on their way. The journey must always be made alone.
